Stretching is great—but are you doing it right? Many people unknowingly slow their flexibility progress by making simple mistakes. Let’s make sure you’re stretching smarter, not harder!
1. Over-Stretching: Too Much, Too Soon
❌ Pushing too far too soon can trigger muscle resistance instead of release.
✔ Ease in gently, and stop if you feel pain—discomfort is okay, but sharp pain is a red flag.
2. Holding Static Stretches Too Long (Before a Workout)
❌ Static stretching before movement can actually decrease performance and increase injury risk.
✔ Instead, try dynamic movements to warm up—hip circles, shoulder rolls, or gentle twists to activate your muscles.
3. Poor Technique: Alignment Matters
❌ Incorrect form can strain joints instead of helping muscles lengthen.
✔ Make sure you’re targeting the right areas with proper alignment.
